No matter how little or big your New Year’s resolution may be, it’s the little steps that truly make a difference. When it comes to eating better, it can simply mean eating quality ingredients without any chemicals, additives, or preservatives. At the Breadwinner, we pride ourselves on using wholesome, natural ingredients to help you live and feel better.

SPICED BEAN BURGER IN A BRIOCHE BUN

lentilburger
Brioche is a rich, eggy bread with French origins that adds a decadent flavour to this vegetarian burger. The patty itself is a mashed kidney bean, grated garlic, and breadcrumb mix, topped with baby gem lettuce, fresh tomato, and greek yoghurt dressing. The kidney beans provide a healthy dose of fibre, iron and vitamin k to keep you energised and on track—perfect for a week night dinner and can be enjoyed by the entire family!

AVOCADO CLUB SANDWICH ON A DARK RYE

darkryeoval
A health conscious twist on a classic sandwich. Nowadays, the avocado is a popular superfood because of its high nutrient value—and those who eat avocados tend to weigh less and be healthier.  Not only are they high in fibre and filled with heart-healthy fats, but contain more potassium than bananas. If you’re trying to lose weight, look for artisan rye bread, the popular health website ‘Livestrong’ recommends “Rye bread fills you up, suppressing your desire to eat and squelching that gnawing hunger that often occurs when you’re on a weight-loss plan. Rye doesn’t spike your blood sugar levels, which can cause uncontrollable hunger and diminished energy.” Read more about eating Rye Bread for weight loss here.

ROASTED CHANTENAY CARROT DAHL WITH A CIABATTA SIDE

ciabatta
A HelloFresh UK-inspired recipe, you can use the Sun-dried Tomato Ciabatta side as a shovel to scoop up the dahl. Author Carol Fields best describes Ciabatta as “a remarkable combination of rustic, country texture and elegant, tantalizing taste. It’s much lighter than its homely shape would indicate, and the porous, chewy interior is enclosed in a slightly crunchy crust.” Carrots flush out toxins from the body due to the amount of Vitamin A, slows down aging, improves vision, protects teeth and gums—just to name a few benefits. The added chickpeas add a dose of protein. Perfect for a nutritious and filling lunch, so why not give it a go?
